Carol A. Welch-Bibbins

Carol Ann (Welch) Bibbins, age 72, of Tipton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 6, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

Carol was born in Elwood, IN on October 25, 1946 to her parents, Jimmy Welch and Maxine (Burns) Welch.

Carol was a graduate of Tipton High School. She worked through the years for the License Branch and she also served as a matron for Tipton County Jail.

Carol was an avid sports fan, and she enjoyed watching Nascar. However, few things could compete with Carol’s love of being a Grandma! Her grandkids were her pride and joy in life, and she loved being a part of anything they were involved in. She was so proud of each of them and was their biggest cheerleader at every ballgame or activity.

Carol was a committed member at Market Road Fellowship. She loved the Lord with her whole heart, and she reflected His love to everyone around her. Carol’s life and relationship with the Lord was an encouragement to others. She instilled many biblical values and principles in the hearts of her kids, grandkids, and church family. They all are very thankful and proud of the person she was. Carol was an amazing gift in the lives of so many and she will be greatly missed!

Those left to carry on Carol’s legacy of love are her children, Tammy (John) Lorts, David Scott (Kristi) Overly, and Jerry “Porky” Overly; grandkids, Jhade Pavan, Jaina (Myles) Hattabaugh, Kory Overly, Dylan Overly, Erica Overly, and Matthew Overly; great grandkids, Amyiah Moore, Adrianna Moore, Aleah Overly, and Chase Pavan; siblings, Frank Fritch (special friend, Pat Baptist), Becky Whitehead, and Terry Fritch; best friends, Dave and Sandy Howell; and life-long friend, Jerry Overly.  

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Welch and Maxine (Burns) Fritch; stepfather, Frank Fritch Sr.; sister, Sondra Koors; sister-in-law, Shirley Fritch; and nephew, Allen Koors.

A big thank you is extended to Carol’s neighbors and friends at Heritage Apartments. These people extended love, help and care every day. Carol’s children loved knowing their mother had neighbors she could count on. Another big thank you is extended to Carol’s friends at Quick Cup. The amazing staff was a bright spot in Carol’s world, as they served her a Coca Cola everyday just the way she liked it!    

A celebration of life service will be held for Carol at 6:00pm on October 6, 2019 at Market Road Fellowship, located at 601 East Market Rd. in Tipton, with Pastor Chris Ellis officiating.
