Daisy Mae crossed over the rainbow bridge on October 5, 2019. She was blessed to spend 10 years in the loving home of the Rupe family. Daisy’s parents, Wayne and Robin, say from day one she was one of their kids. They are so glad they gave in and listened to their son Sam, who had been asking for a little dog for quite some time. They will never forget the day when they responded to the Facebook ad to purchase a little dachshund that reminded them all of a Reese Cup! 

The family’s love and commitment for this sweet animal was tested early on. Just four days after having Daisy it was discovered that she had parvo. The family spent many nights holding Daisy Mae, giving her IV fluids, and praying for her to survive. When she did in fact pull through this terrible illness, it proved what a fighter she was. Daisy kept that fighting spirit all through her life.

Daisy had a domineering personality and was very protective of her mommy. She was very chatty (barked a lot). She always insisted on being the greeter at the door whenever there was company. You could often find Daisy Mae enjoying her treats. She loved Beggin Strips, cheese, and any other food she could get a family member to give her off their plate.

 Daisy Mae could be a little bit comical at times. She liked to pretend she was scratching an itch with her back leg, but she was really only thumping her foot on the floor. Daisy would also sit straight up and look “pretty” to get food or to be picked up. Daisy loved to cozy up and go to sleep next to mommy & daddy. She also enjoyed going to see her furry friend Maggie Sue at Grandma Rupe’s.

Daisy Mae is survived by: Dad, Wayne; Mom, Robin; Brother, Sam; and furry siblings, Dudley Jo & Miss Mouser.
