Lester E. McGinnis, age 74, of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 with his loving daughters by his side. He was born on December 31, 1944 in Jonesville, Virginia to Lester O. McGinnis and Maxine (Anderson) McGinnis.
Earl was a 1963 graduate of Jonesville High School. He worked at Delco Electronics in Kokomo as a machinist for 36 years, and was a Union Rep. for Local 292. Earl was also a member of Masonic Lodge in Greentown.
In Earl’s spare time he loved being with his family. He enjoyed driving, owning, building, and machining parts for hot rods. He was an avid drag racer. Earl also enjoyed playing his guitar, traveling, riding his Harley, and bird watching at home. In Earl’s younger years he was very involved in FFA, and he could often be found pulling a tractor. Earl will be greatly missed and forever loved!
Those left to carry on Earl’s legacy of love are his daughters, Anjanette (Chris) Downs, of Galveston and Heather (Bobby) Nunemacher, of Tipton; granddaughters, Sydney Pate, of Indianapolis and Alyson Nunemacher, of Tipton; and grandson, Jonathan Stokes of Tipton.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Lester O. McGinnis & Maxine (Anderson) McGinnis.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 am on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Miller Chapel Cemetery in Jonesville, Virginia. At his request, there will be no other services.
