Lieutenant Snickerdoodle Taylor Obituary

Lieutenant Snickerdoodle, age 10 months, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday April 23, 2019.  Lieutenant was adopted from the Kokomo Humane Society on September 25, 2019.

Lieutenant was chosen by his Momma, Ellie, because he was feisty and as cute as could be.  Even at 10 years old she knew he needed her.  His whole family quickly fell in love with him.  He would sleep with the girls every night and loved to get attention from them more so than anyone else.  They would often wake up to Lieutenant licking their face or sleeping on their head.  He loved a good chin scratch. He would sit on the side of the bathtub with his tail in the water, only falling into the tub a few times!  He loved to attack the legs of anyone walking by, he would grab your leg and hang on.

Lieutenant Snickerdoodle was named for his stalking skills.  Ellie said he was like a sniper so he needed a military name, Adeline liked his given name form the Humane Society so they compromised.  He had many other names he came to: kitty, fluffy, butthead (thanks Wyatt).  It didn’t really matter what he was called, when he heard the girls he always came running.  They were really the only ones that could carry him around without him trying to get down.  Poor Wyatt never really stood a chance with him, as much as he tried, he didn’t want to be held by him.  It got to be comical as to what he might do to get out of Wyatt’s arms.  Wyatt tried to take him for a ride down the road in his truck and learned the hard way that he didn’t care much for that…he came home with his arms all scratched up.

Lieutenant grew to love his doggy sister’s too.  Lucy was very tolerant of him attacking her, Sheba not so much but they would chase each other around.  He was a great mouser and moth catcher, he could jump so high to snatch one out of the air!  Lucy and Sheba have been looking for him everywhere and keep going back to where we found him.

Lieutenant meant the world to Adeline & Ellie.  Ellie had been asking for a kitten since she learned to talk and we finally gave in.  We went to the Humane Society with the intention of getting an adult.  She saw many she liked but none wanted to be held or loved on and then she saw Snickerdoodle and it was all over.  He will be greatly missed and even though he’s not here with us anymore, he will always hold a special place in our hearts.  We know that he is in Heaven with the ones that have gone before him; Conway, Jackson, Sabrina, Carl, and Lollie.

Lieutenant is survived by his Momma Ellie, Momma Adeline, Wyatt, Dave, Sarah, Lucy & Sheba.

Please feel free to leave a condolence or words of encouragement for his two little gals that are heartbroken without him on his tribute wall.

Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed
are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special
person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play
until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up!
The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look
once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Bridge together
never again to be separated.
