Loyd Dean Burton

Loyd Dean Burton, age 86, of Tipton, passed away on May 16, 2019 at the VA hospital in Marion, following an extended illness. Loyd was born on October 15, 1932, in Tipton to the late Harry and Dortha (Lee) Burton.

Loyd was a proud member of the United States Armed Forces, serving in Korea.  He worked at McGraws Supermarket, in Tipton, for 22 years.  In his younger years, he was a member of a bowling league out of Suburban Lanes and participated in skeet shooting at Izzak Walton League in Kokomo.

Those left to carry on Loyd’s legacy of love are his daughter, Donna Owens of Kent, OH; his granddaughter, Billie Owens of Elwood, IN; and his great grandson, Noah Kelich of Elwood, IN.

Loyd is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Burton and two infant siblings. 

A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday May 25th at 10:00 AM with Military Honors taking place at Fairview Cemetery.
