Mack Allen Sherman

Mack A. Sherman, age 89, of Tipton passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Mack was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to his loving parents, Wilson Mack Sherman and Viola (Pennock) Bangle, on January 25, 1930. Mack grew up and went to school in Michigan. He later moved to Indiana, where he met and married the love of his life, Frances (Groover) Sherman on August 6, 1955. Frances passed away on July 15, 1981.

Throughout Mack’s life he lived in the areas of Curtisville, Windfall, Elwood and Tipton. He earned his living farming and loved every minute of it. Mack was a true outdoorsman. Mack was a dependable man, and helpful to anyone who crossed his path. Mack was a collector. He loved to tinker and fix or rebuild anything he could get his hands on. Later in life Mack developed a love for coloring, working crosswords, and doing word search puzzles. Above all, Mack loved his family and he will be greatly missed. 

Those left to carry on Mack’s legacy of love are his children, James Sherman of Cookeville, TN, and Tammy Jean Sherman of Noblesville, IN; Grandchildren, Amanda (Sam) Clark, Jessica (Aaron) Burke, Misty Amber Gardner, Misty Jo (Kerry) Mike and Dolores Sherman; Great Grandchildren, Mariah-Kay Clark and Dustin Clark; and Step Brother, Ward Sherman.

Mack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Brother, Ira Wilson Sherman; and Sisters, Isabelle Reynolds & Janie Auler.

A graveside service celebrating Mack’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Elwood City Cemetery, beginning at 3pm. Linda Johnson will share a special message in honor of Mack. Friends and family are welcome to meet at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton at 2:30pm to join a procession leading to the cemetery.
