Martin L. Edwards

Martin L. Edwards, age 71, entered into rest on Sunday September 8, 2019, at his home with his family by his side.

Marty was born in Anderson, IN on May 2, 1948 to Fred and Ethel (Keesling) Edwards.  Marty married Cathy (Carlson) Edwards, sharing 51 years of marriage.  They were married in Kokomo, Indiana on August 30, 1968; she survives.

Marty was a graduate of Kokomo High School.  After high school he attended Ball State University and IU Kokomo.   Marty was a proud member of the US Army; he served at Ft. Lewis in Washington State.  Marty worked at Chrysler in Kokomo where he retired after 42 years.

Marty enjoyed golf, boating, and anything that had to do with outdoors.  He could often be found watching the Cubs and Nascar races.  One of his favorite things to do was to spend time with his grandsons.  He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather.  Marty was very proud of his family and made the most of every moment they spent together.

Those left to carry on Marty’s legacy of love are his wife Cathy Edwards; his daughter Moreen Edwards; his son Fred (Stacy) Edwards; grandchildren Nathan Adams, Chris Adams, and Johnny Edwards.

Marty was welcomed into Heaven by his parents Fred & Ethel Edwards.

Marty’s family will have private family services at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marty’s honor to Rock Prairie Baptist Church.
