Ona Mae (Brown) Park

Ona Mae (Brown) Park, age 85, of Westfield passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Maple Park Village in Westfield. 

Ona was born in Lawrence County, Arkansas on February 25, 1934 to Carles and Jeffie (Medlock) Brown. In May of 1956 she married the love of her life, Homer Park; he precedes her in death.

Ona grew up in Lawrence County, AR from 1934-1951, moving to Tipton in 1951-2007, followed by Noblesville from 2007-2015, finally settling in Westfield from 2015-2019. 

Ona worked as a part-time lab technician at Stokley’s in Tipton from 1960-1974 and then took on part-time work for Ray Brother’s in Hobb’s from 1975-1981.  After retirement, she enjoyed her time as a homemaker.  She loved to clean house and visit with friends.  She enjoyed searching for great deals at rummage sales so she could turn around and sell them herself at a profit.  Ona liked country music, her favorite being Vince Gill.  She could often be found at jam sessions for local bands.  In her later years she found a love of jewelry making.     

Those left to carry on Ona’s legacy of love are son Danny Park of Indianapolis and her brother George E. Brown "Brownie" of Tipton. 

Ona was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. 

A Graveside service celebrating Ona’s life will be Tuesday June 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm in Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.  Pastor John Ankrum will officiate. A visitation will be held prior to service from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm  at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton.
