Battle Borum, age 6, crossed over the rainbow bridge on Sunday, August 19, 2018. He was born on November 15, 2011 and lived a full life with his owner Josh.
He was a very proud and protective boy. One of Battles favorite activities was “protecting” his home by chasing pesky squirrels, rabbits, and opossums! He had a wandering soul and loved to sneak off every chance he got. Battle’s spirit or body could not be caged! As a pup, he would completely destroy his cage, even after being reinforced. Within a week, the cage looked like it had been in an explosion! Battle won that battle and was not caged after that. His favorite treat was apples from the trees in his yard, I’m certain in heaven he will have a whole orchard to choose the best apples from!
Battle was more that just a pet, he served a greater purpose in this life. He helped Josh thru a very rough time in his life, getting sober. In Josh’s words, “He was my Battle Buddy during my toughest battle. He stuck with me through thick and thin. I’m just happy to know his last couple of years were with the new me…he helped make it worth it.”
He is survived by his Daddy, Josh Borum who will miss Battle greatly.
“Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them, and filling an emptiness we didn’t know we had.” -Thom Jones
