Benjamin Crain Obituary

Benjamin Wayne Crain, age 77, of Kokomo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Ben was born on January 25, 1945 in Blyth, California, to his parents, Benjamin & Pauline (Holder) Crain. He married the love of his life, Joyce Crain, on January 3, 1965 and the two enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

Ben graduated from Blyth High School in California in the class of 1963. He then proudly served in the United States Army. Ben worked for Heuer (John Deere) as a heavy equipment operator for several years.  He also worked for Delco Electronics, which is where he ended up retiring, after 30 dedicated years.

Ben was an extremely giving and caring man. If you needed a helping hand he was the guy to call. In his younger years, he coached little league, and was known for being encouraging and a great leader. Ben loved to go salmon fishing and watch Nascar. More than anything, he loved spending time with his dear family! Ben will be so greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him!

Those left to carry on Ben’s legacy of love are his wife, Joyce Crain; son, Dan Crain; grandchildren, Mark (Sarah) Rush, Clinton & Christopher Davis, Caitlyn & Izabella Crain; great grandchildren, Mattie Ollie, Benji Rush; sisters, Bert Heier, Jean Hartmon; brothers-In-law, Dan (Peg) Rogers, Shorty (Sharon) Smith; and best friend, Roger Garrett.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Pauline Crain; daughter, Donna Ballard; sister, Wanda Hubbard; and grandson, Michale Causey.
