Beverly Ann “Bev” (Pore) Wagoner, 90, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in the same town where her life began. She was born on September 16, 1935, in Tipton to her mother, Emily (Loser) Coats.
Bev was a proud graduate of Tipton High School, Class of 1952. On July 18, 1959, she married the love of her life, Cleties Wagoner. Together they built a life centered on faith, hard work, and quiet acts of service. Cleties preceded her in death in February of 2017, but the love they shared remained a lasting part of her story.
For over 40 years, Bev and her husband faithfully served as caretakers of First Christian Church in Rochester, Indiana. It was more than a role, it was a reflection of her servant’s heart and deep devotion to her church family. She was also a familiar and friendly face in the cafeteria at Rochester High School, where she cared for others in the simple, meaningful ways she knew best.
Bev found her greatest joy in the beauty of everyday life. She loved being outdoors, tending to her flower gardens and her large vegetable garden, both of which she cared for with pride and dedication. She had a special place in her heart for animals, often taking in strays and giving them the love and care they needed. Her beloved kitty, Freddy, was a constant companion and a source of comfort.
She enjoyed spending her time browsing yard sales and attending local festivals, simple pleasures that brought her happiness. Above all, Bev cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and held close to her heart.
Bev will be remembered for her gentle and kind spirit, balanced by a spunky personality and a quiet strength. She had a way of making others feel cared for, but she wasn’t afraid to “lay down the law” when needed, a trait that made her both beloved and respected.
Her life was a testament to love, service, and finding joy in the little things. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and unwavering care for those around her.
Those left to carry on her legacy of love are her children, Brenda (Steve) Crawford, Cindy McCartney; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; brothers Frank (Carol) Pore, Richard Pore; and daughter-in-law, Kelly Wagoner as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bev was welcomed into heaven by her mother, Emily & Wiley Coats; husband, Cleties Wagoner; son, Bill Wagoner; and brothers, John Pore and Jim Pore.
A funeral service celebrating Bev’s life will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton. Visitation for family & friends will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Leiters IOOF Cemetery located at 7778 W. Olsen Road in Rochester, Indiana.
Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home is honored to serve Bev’s family in their time of need. Please feel free to leave an online condolence or share a special memory of Bev with her family on her tribute wall.
