Brenda Michele (Mahaney) Boes

Brenda Michele Boes (Mahaney), age 57, of Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Tipton on September 28, 1965, to her parents, Bobby & Betty (Keen) Mahaney. 

Brenda graduated from Tipton High School, class of 1984. After high school, she attended cosmetology school where she earned her license and later attended college, earning a degree in medical billing and coding.  Brenda was a hard worker holding several different types of jobs over the years. 

Brenda was a natural caregiver to everyone around her. Her kind soul and gentle way drew people to her and made them instantly feel comfortable.  She enjoyed her time spent with family.  Brenda cared deeply for those around her.  She was known as everyone’s mom, always ready to “adopt” any kiddo that needed a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen.  She was an incredibly proud grandma, always taking an active role in their early childhood learning to help get them ready for school. 

Those left to carry on Brenda’s legacy of love are her mother, Betty Mahaney; children, Breanna (Andrew) Robinson, Derek Boes; siblings, Bonnie (Martin) Aspiazu, Bruce (Marlo) Mahaney; grandchildren, Kairi Smith, Aphrodite Boes; nieces and nephews, Michael Aspiazu, Stephanie (Ryan) Hulce, Clay Aspiazu, and Tyler (BrennaKae) Mahaney.  

Brenda was welcomed into Heaven by her father, Bobby Mahaney.

A funeral service celebrating Brenda’s life Friday, August 11, 2023, at 1:00pm at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home located at 314 N Main Street in Tipton with Pastor Joe Brock officiating.  A visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service from 11:00am – 1:00pm.  Committal will take place in St. John’s cemetery.
