Catherine “Katie” Hoban Goodknight, age 41, of Tipton, passed away on January 6, 2024, following a cardiac arrest on December 26, 2023 that resulted in catastrophic brain failure.
A Celebration of Katie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Arcadia Christian Church, located at 26901 SR-19 in Arcadia, Indiana with Pastor JR Moffatt officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.
Katie was a sparkling spirit who loved life; she found genuine delight in so many of the little things that most of us take for granted. A huge fan of fine art, particularly Van Gogh’s works, Katie was a talented artist in her own right. She was a creative crafter; she also loved dancing and music. “Dance Parties” with her children were epic! Katie adored being a mother, and her biggest joys were her four children. She was joyfully proud of their every accomplishment, and she met every one of their challenges with a positive outlook. She loved them “to the moon and back.”
Katie is survived by her three daughters, Selkie Parsons, Teagan & Tristan Slayton, her son Ronan Slayton, her mother Cathy Cannon, and brothers David Goodknight and Michael Goodknight. She also leaves three nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins to cherish her memory.
Please feel free to leave an online condolence or share a special memory of Katie with her family on her tribute wall.
Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Goodknight family in their time of need. In lieu of flowers, donations in Katie’s memory can be made to Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home for the support of her children.
