Debra Jeanne (Jones) Parton

Debra Jeanne (Jones) Parton, age 65, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born on January 14, 1958 in Nebraska to her parents, William Jones and Mable (Butts) Jones. Debbie married the love of her life, Bruce Parton, on August 5, 2012, and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2022.  

Debbie was a 1976 graduate of Hammond-Gavit High School in Hammond, Indiana. Not long after graduating Debbie earned a license in real estate. Many Tipton folks will remember Debbie from her time spent working for Clark Filling Station. She was the friendly face behind the counter, who could talk to anyone about anything. Debbie effortlessly brightened a lot of people's days with her easy going, happy go lucky demeanor. She truly had a gift for leaving others better than how she found them. Debbie’s favorite job came a little later in life when she was able to be caregiver for her grandkids every day. She naturally poured so much love into each of their lives and told everyone who would listen what a blessing her kids and grandkids were to her!   

Debbie enjoyed all things outdoors; camping, fishing, boating, gardening, yard work, watching nature, and especially the simplicity of sitting in the rocking chair on the front porch. Debbie was a woman who others enjoyed being around. This was most likely because of her realness. She had her priorities straight! Her honesty about life, joys, struggles, and her experiences was nothing short of endearing. She never hesitated to help someone in need. She was a natural caregiver, and valued her role in the lives of others. Debbie was one of a kind and a true gift in the lives of more people than she ever realized!  She will be missed beyond measure!  

 Those left to carry on Debbie’s legacy of love are her children, Jason William (Rachel) Sayers, Michael Dean Sayers, Matthew Thomas (Ana) Sayers, Kaylee Sue Sayers; grandkids, Austin, Jacob, Trevor, Drew, Jaxson, Noah, Ryder; great grandchildren, Landon “Nay Nay”, Liam “Be Be”, April “Princess”, Oaklee, “sweet baby on the way”; siblings, Alice Jones, Cindy Jones, William (Jen) Jones.  

Debbie was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, William & Mable Jones; husband, Bruce Parton; sister, Brenda Kukral; daughter, April Parton; and grand baby, Camila Sayers. 

A memorial service celebrating Debbie’s life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. In Tipton, with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. A visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
