Deloris Ann (Plake) Miller

Deloris Ann (Plake) Miller, age 83, of Windfall, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 14, 1938 in Tipton, to her parents, John “Tommy” Plake & Letha (Likens) Plake. Ann married the love of her life, David L. Miller on June 1, 1964, and the two enjoyed nearly 48 years of marriage before David passed away on February 11, 2012.

Ann graduated from Tipton High School in the Class of ’56. She worked for Delco Electronics in Kokomo for 30 plus years before retiring. Through the years Ann stayed very active with her kids and grandkids. She was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader. Ann was also a huge advocate for underprivileged kids and enjoyed volunteer work. She was very proud of her commitment to feed under privileged children through the Boy Scout Program. With her family-oriented nature, Ann was a caregiver and role model for many who crossed her path.

Ann enjoyed camping, gardening, crocheting, reading, and spending time at the casino. By far, her favorite activity was spending time with her grandkids. Ann was an extremely loving person, and believed in continually investing in those around her. She will be missed beyond measure, yet her loved ones are incredibly grateful for the amazing example she has been for each of them!

Those left to carry on Ann's legacy of love are her children, Terry (Brenda) Miller, Susan Moore; siblings, Herb (Susan) Plake, Hubert “Gene” (Patricia “Pat”) Plake, Lily Hale, Joann Marks, Donnie (Betty) Miller, Patty (Bob) Poole; grandchildren, Breanna, Andrew, Karleen, Jayson, Casey, Sean, Heath, Ian, Lacee, Dusty, Logan, Korrine, Paul, Kai, Keaten, Lauren; great grandchildren, Hunter, Revan, Aurbee, Kellee, Charlee, Jaxson, Annabelle, Peyton, Valerie, Isabella; many nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as beloved dog, Bitsie.

Ann was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Tommy & Letha Plake, Mary & Everet Miller; husband, David L. Miller; siblings, Tom “Sonny” Plake, Rosemary Brown, Sharon Addison, Shirley Plake, Phil Plake, Bill Miller, Myra Plake, Dannie Hale, David Burson, and Sandy “Plake” Moore.

A musical service in Ann's honor will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
