Dimple McCullough-Atchley Obituary

Dimple Wilene (Savage) McCullough Atchley, age 93, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2022, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 27, 1929 in Cookeville, Tennessee to her parents, Clura G. Savage and Wilma (Goodwin) Savage.

Dimple grew up and went to school in Tennessee. She worked for Dana Corporation (Perfect Circle) in Tipton for many years and ended up retiring from Dana Warehouse. Dimple was a worker bee and had many side jobs through the years. She enjoyed people, working with the public, and always preferred to keep herself busy. Dimple worked part time for Carter’s Grocery Store, and after retirement she worked for Bob’s Standard Service Station.

Dimple’s faith was very important to her, and she attended the Church of Christ in Tipton. To put it simply, Dimple was a ray of sunshine in many lives. She was a sweet soul, who always believed in leaving others better than how she found them! Dimple loved living an easy, uncomplicated life; her favorite things were coffee on the front porch, watching hummingbirds at the birdfeeder, tending to her dogs, and using her imagination to craft and paint. She was dedicated to her children and grandchildren and loved them all with her whole heart. Dimple was kind, giving, nurturing, and very impactful with her positivity.  She will be missed beyond measure by all who had the privilege of knowing her!

Those left to carry on Dimple’s legacy of love are her children, Sandra (Jim) Lewis of Tipton, Susie Kirby of Tipton, David McCullough of Gettingsville, Don (Gail) McCullough of Greentown, Terry McCullough of Tipton; grandchildren, Lea Ann (Mike) Hinkle, Jennifer Rushing, Michael (Crystal) McCullough, Misty (Shane) Meador, Joshua (Courtney) McCullough, Jaime (Ryan Stepp) Bever; 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; brother, Dell (Gloria) Savage of Riveria Beach, FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dimple was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Clura & Wilma Savage; 2 infant brothers; father of her children, Jack McCullough; daughter in law, Lauretta McCullough; son in law, David Kirby; and great grandson, Logan McCullough.
