Donald Hunley

Donald Ray Hunley, age 80, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was born on May 23, 1942 in Rogersville, Tennessee to his parents, Elmer Hunley & Estel (Burton) Hunley. Donald married the love of his life, Darlene (Hopkins) Hunley on December 31, 1975 and the two enjoyed nearly 47 years together.  

Donald graduated from Surgionsville High School in the Class of 1961. He then went on to serve in the United States Air Force, where he worked as a jet engine mechanic. In 1973, Donald made his way to Tipton, Indiana. He worked for Coop for a number of years, and then began working for Steel Parts; where he retired in 2007.  

In his spare time, Donald loved to be outdoors! He really enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. Donald was an outgoing, happy go lucky guy. Any time spent with him, no matter what you were doing, was fun. He was constantly joking around and cutting up. He had a gift for making everyone around him comfortable. Donald will be missed so very much by all who had the privilege of knowing him!   

Those left to carry on Donald’s legacy of love are his wife, Darlene Hunley; children, Dena Hunley, Debbie Hunley, Zeb (Janelle) Hunley, Josh (Hannah) Hunley; grandkids, Jarod, Jordan, Mason, Maddox; and brother, George (Robin) Hunley.  

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Hunley.  

Out of respect for Donald’s wishes, no funeral services will be held.
