Donald Moore Obituary

Donald Vernon Moore, age 88, of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Donald was born on July 22, 1932, in Moody, Missouri to his parents, William & Audrey (Wallin) Moore.  Donald married the love of his life, Frances Spencer on October 13, 1951, in Anderson, Indiana; they shared 61 years together before she passed away on December 31, 2012.

Donald was a graduate of West Plains High School, class of 1950.  After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Donald worked for Delco-Remy General Motors, retiring after 36 and a half years.

Donald was a member of the Lions Club in Lapel, Indiana.  He was an avid flea marketer, he never passed up a chance to look around and see what treasure he could find!  Donald was a very involved dad; he coached girls’ softball in Lapel and boys’ baseball in Elwood for many years.  He always made sure his family knew the love he felt for them, it was something they never had to question.  He will be greatly missed.

Those left to carry on Donald’s legacy of love are his children, Jacqueline (Dewayne) Tyrie, Terry (Terri) Moore, Patricia (Donnie) Graves; grandchildren, Ryan Moore, Alysia Moore, Crystal Cockrell, Aaron Tyrie, Brandon Braxton, Bryce Graves; brother, David Moore; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Donald was welcomed into Heaven by his wife, Frances Moore and his parents, William & Audrey Moore.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
