Edith (Arms) Gamble

Edith Gamble (Arms), age 92, of Forest, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. She was born in Moss, TN on March 18, 1928 to her parents, Roy B. & Melia Ann (Greer) Arms. 

Edith was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family.  She loved to spend time with her girls, and especially enjoyed visits from her Great-Grandsons Coltson Greene, Eli Woodard, and Kaleb Woodard.    Edith has always enjoyed nature and was always on the lookout for critters; she enjoyed when they would visit her yard.  She would pass the time reading or doing puzzles.  Music was soothing to her soul and she played it often.  Among her favorites were country, Bonnie Raitt, old southern gospel, and blues but man oh man, nothing topped Elvis! 

Edith was fun-loving and ornery as the day was long! Everyone she met fell in love with her.  She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh as well making others laugh.  Edith had a way of forming very deep bonds with people that she was close to.  She touched a lot of lives and will be greatly missed.

Those left to carry on Edith’s legacy of love are her Daughter Paula Gamble; Brothers Jimmy Eagle Arms and James Kenneth Arms; extended family Cathy Greene, Kacy Greene, Kelcy Greene, Kinzy Greene, Larry Greene and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Edith had a very large family, too many to list, but she loved each one of them!

Edith was welcomed into Heaven by her Parents Roy & Melia Greer; Sisters Mary D. Miller and Stella Anita Arms; and Brothers Bobby Gene Arms, Willie Roy Paul Arms, and John Edward Arms.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 4:00pm at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton with Pastor Doug Slack officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the funeral home.
