Florence Evadean (Belzer) Bayliff

Florence Evadean (Belzer) Bayliff, age 96, of Tipton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 14, 2024. She was born on September 19, 1927 to her parents, Arza Belzer and Nancy Lyndle (Thurston) Belzer. Dean married the love of her life, Maurice Bayliff on May 18, 1948 and the two shared many beautiful years together, before Maurice passed away in 2020.  

Dean graduated from Jackson Central High School (Hamilton Heights). Through the years Dean cleaned houses and worked for Power Equipment in Cicero to make extra money for her family. She was an excellent wife and mother and took great pride in caring for her family.  

She was a long time member of Ash Street Wesleyan Church, formerly Pilgrim Holiness Church in Tipton. She served in the Women’s Missionary Society as a secretary, and was also a Sunday School teacher. Dean enjoyed her church family and friends. Her faith was very important to her throughout her life, and she was a very Godly woman. 

Later in life, Dean had the privilege of becoming a grandma. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and beamed with pride for each of them. She loved family get togethers, working puzzles and playing games.  

Those left to carry on Dean’s legacy of love are her children, Danny (Roni) Bayliff of Kokomo, Mona Goodmanson of Tipton, Kevin Bayliff of South Bend; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren (with another due in December).  

Dean was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Maurice Bayliff; parents, Arza & Lyndle Belzer; daughter, Cheryl Coots; brothers, Johnny Jack Belzer and Jerry Belzer; and great granddaughter, Dorothy Letsinger.    

A funeral service celebrating Dean’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home located at 314 N. Main St. In Tipton with Pastor Jerry Smith officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the service in Tipton’s Fairview Cemetery.  

The family of Dean Bayliff would like to extend tremendous thanks to The Waters of Tipton, and Guardian Angel Hospice for the exceptional care they provided. Their services were so greatly appreciated!
