Frank Smith Obituary

Frank W. Smith, age 64, of Kokomo, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 16, 2020 following an extended illness. Frank was born on September 14, 1955 to his parents, Frank Smith Sr. & Maude Lorene (Horne) Smith.

Frank graduated from Hayworth High School in the class of 1973. He worked in manufacturing, and retired from General Motors - Kokomo after 30 years of employment. Frank married the love of his life, Patricia A. (McMillian) Smith on January 28, 1992, and the two of them enjoyed 29 years devoted to one another.

Frank would be described as a man with a huge heart! He loved to make others laugh. He was loving, helpful, and could often be found completing selfless acts for those he loved. Frank embraced his role as the leader, and considered it a privilege to be able to care of his family. Every opportunity he got to brag on his grandkids, he took!

Frank had many hobbies; he was also extremely gifted in the arts. He played guitar, piano, drums, and bass. He was a great singer, and through the years was able to write more than 29 songs, with all of them being copy written. Frank also was the author of a children’s book called “Duck Milk”. Each time this book is purchased the proceeds go directly to help a child in need.

In Frank’s spare time he loved to ski, camp, fish, ride his motorcycle, fix and restore vehicles, and love on his cats. Frank will be missed greatly by his family, who adored him, as well as everyone who had the pleasure of calling him their friend!

Those left to carry on Frank’s legacy of love are his wife, Patricia A. Smith; daughters, Dawn (Miguel) Salazar, Amanda (Antonio) Baeza and Lori Clinkenbeard; grandchildren, Thilea Sustaita, Iseah Aguilar, Alonzo Sustaita, Francisco Aguilar, Jackie Aguilar, Jorge Elvira and Jozlynn Torres; brother, Jim Horne; sister, Paulette “Trudy” (Brett) Blue, and several nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Smith & Maude Lorene (Horne) Smith, and a baby grandson, and two baby granddaughters.

A private funeral service celebrating Frank’s life will be held at a later date.

Please feel free to leave an online condolence or share a special memory of Frank with his family on his tribute wall.
