Gary Harmon, 84, of Kempton, Indiana, returned to the loving arms of our Lord on April 23, 2026, at Aperion Care in Kokomo.
He was born on August 26, 1941, in Frankfort, Indiana. Gary graduated from Wanatah High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army.
On a beautiful day in 1968, Gary married the love of his life, Carol Green. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, love, and unwavering commitment. Carol survives him, carrying forward the many cherished memories they created together.
Gary dedicated much of his professional life to his work as an Assistant Vice President for National Homes in Atlanta, Georgia, and later in mortgage banking. He was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and the relationships he built along the way.
Above all else, Gary was a man of deep and abiding faith. He was a devoted follower of Jesus, and his love for the Lord guided the way he lived his life and treated others. He had a gift for connecting with people, whether in conversation, encouragement, or simply offering a listening ear. He truly loved to sit and talk, making everyone feel seen and valued.
Gary was a proud and loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his greatest joy, and he was always present with support, wisdom, and kindness. He will be remembered for his friendly nature, his steady faith, and the warmth he brought into every room.
He also found great enjoyment in cheering on the Chicago Bears, sharing that passion with those around him.
Gary leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and meaningful connections that will continue to live on through all who knew him.
Those left to carry on his legacy of love are his wife, Carol Harmon; daughter, Marci Mock; and grandson, David Garrett Harmon.
Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Harmon family in their time of need. Please feel free to leave an online condolence or share a special memory of Gary with his family on his tribute wall.
