Harold Cox Obituary

Harold Elrod Cox, age 77, of Tipton, went to be with his Lord and Savior, the Master Carpenter, on Monday, August 2, 2021, while being cared for by his loving family. He was born on June 6, 1944 to his parents, Steven Elrod Cox and Opal Marie (Noel) Cox.
Harold attended the Indiana School for the Deaf. As a young man he learned the value of family and hard work; learning carpentry from his father and working alongside him to help the family and mentor his younger brothers and family. Throughout Harold’s life, his work ethic exceeded most around him. He was usually at home, remodeling his house or building something if he wasn’t at work. He retired from Haynes International, after nearly 30 years of service, often working 12 hour days and often 7 days a week, voluntarily. He then spent several years looking after his mother.
Harold was the true definition of a family man; nothing was more important to him than his children and grandchildren. He beamed with pride for all of his kids and grandkids. He was the type of Dad that loved having his kids and their friends around the house, shooting pool or just hanging out with them.  Harold was extremely capable and made sure his kids knew they were capable of anything, if they were willing to learn and work diligently.
In Harold’s spare time you may have found him riding his Harley, remodeling his house, or fishing; in his younger years he was an avid bowler and very good at it! To his children, he was a hero, who was dependable in every sense of the word, and he will be missed beyond measure!
Those left to carry on Harold’s legacy of love are Janice Sullivan (mother of his children and best friend), his children, Brent Cox, Melanie (Matt) Leeson, Erica Cox; Grandchildren, Jeremy (Misty) Cox, Rikki Cox, Caleb (Kelsey) Angell, Cameron (Lexi) Cox, Vincent Bugher; Siblings, Wanda (Orval) Jones, Terry (Dawn) Cox, Scott (Lisa) Cox, Sister In Laws, Sudie Cox, Betty Cox; seven Great Grandchildren and one on the way; and many Nieces, Nephews.
Harold was welcomed into Heaven by his Parents, Daughter In Law, Jennifer Cox; Granddaughter, Heather Breanne Cox; and Siblings, Billie Cox, Danny Cox, Gary Cox and Phyllis Cox.
