James "Jim" Fisher Obituary

James Nolan Fisher, age 54, of Tipton, raced to the pearly gates of Heaven on Monday, February 28, 2022, at IU Health Tipton Hospital.  Jim was born on November 18,1967 to his parents, Gwen Fisher and Sharon (Young) Gamble in Tipton, Indiana. Jim shared 22 years with the love of his life, Sheri Corniola.  She preceded him in death on May 4, 2015.

Jim graduated from Tri-Central High School, class of 1986. He worked for many years at Instillations Unlimited where he installed commercial playground equipment.

Jim enjoyed activities that lead him outdoors.  He loved to hunt deer, be out on the water fishing, and riding around on his motorcycle; something several of his family members enjoyed doing together on a warm day.  When he was relaxing in front of the television, you could bet he was watching an old western, Gunsmoke, Leave it to Beaver, or Andy Griffith!

Jim was a family man and took great pride in his children.  His family meant the world to him.  He was goofy, always doing whatever it took to make someone laugh or smile.  Jim had a bubbly personality which made him someone that people were naturally drawn to; he didn’t know a stranger. He was simply someone others enjoyed being around and he had a way of making everyone feel special.

Those left to carry on Jim’s legacy of love are his children, Lindsay (Kelsey Swinford) Fisher, Ashley (Johnny Torres) Fisher; grandchildren, Ryan Peters, Madison Brown, and twins on the way; sisters, Anna Roark, JoEllen (Tim) Bousman; nieces and nephews, Caysee Anderson, Robby Bloyd, Cheyanna Crews, Shelby Bousman; aunt & uncle, Loretta & Glenn Fippen; Step-mom, Sharon Fisher; special friends, Scott Roan, Matt Schmidt, Lindsay Plummer, Curtis & Pam Hayes; several great nieces and nephews; and his dog, Chumley who he loved dearly.

Jim was welcomed into Heaven by his dad, Gwen Fisher; mom, Sharon Gamble; life companion, Sheri Corniola; and grandparents, Jack & Opal Fisher and Rick & Katherine Ramey.

A funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N Main St. in Tipton, with Pastor Ashley Sherard officiating.
