Jennifer Ann Millett-Wood

Jennifer Ann Millett-Wood, age 49, of Tipton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Jennifer was born on December 21, 1972. When she was 9 years old she was adopted into the loving home of her parents, Dave and Lou Ann (Allen) Millett. Jennifer married her best friend, John Leonard Wood on June 2, 2013 and the two enjoyed 8 wonderful years together.

Jennifer was a 1991 graduate of Tipton High School. Through the years, Jennifer had several long-term jobs. She worked for Delta (customer service). She managed Pools of Fun in Fishers, IN; and was also co-owner of Sunshine Pools when she lived in Ohio. When Jennifer wasn’t working or spending time with her family, you may have found her cooking, curled up on the couch watching a movie, or rooting for her favorite football team, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Jennifer was a free spirit! She was someone that others simply enjoyed being around. She had an outgoing personality, along with a great sense of humor. She was modest, however she was extraordinary in many ways! Smart, beautiful, determined, driven, strong willed, and creative are a few of the adjectives her family used to describe her. Jennifer valued family bonds and took the time to fully invest in those she loved. She absolutely adored her children and was a very proud grandma! To know Jennifer, was to love her and she will be so greatly missed!   

Those left to carry on Jennifer’s legacy of love are her husband, John Wood; daughters, Cassandra Millett-Gurtler, Brianna Mae Millett-Gurtler; parents, Dave & Lou Ann Millett; grandchildren, Kainya Wilson, Killian Wilson; Step-Children, Jonathan Wood, Eric Wood, Hannah Grohe, Suzanna Wood, Samantha Wood; siblings, Angel Miller, Craig Wiley; and Aunt, Nancy (Tom) Conlon. Jennifer is also survived by the father of her children, Chris Gurtler.

Jennifer was welcomed into Heaven by her son, Nathaniel David Goodmanson; maternal grandparents, Harold & Phillis Allen; and paternal grandparents, Glen and Mae Anna Millett.

A memorial service celebrating Jennifer’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at West Street Christian Church, located at 132 N. West St. in Tipton, with Pastor Ashley Shephard officiating. A visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at the church.

Memorial donations in Jennifer’s honor can be made to the Tipton County Humane Society or to the West Street Christian Church free food pantry. Donation envelopes will be available at the church on the day of services.
