Jeremiah Sowders, age 43, of Tipton, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at IU Health Methodist in Indianapolis. He was born on October 17, 1979, in Gold Beach, Oregon to his mother, Brenda Sowders.
Miah suffered a crippling accident that required extensive hospitalizations while in high school but managed to graduate on time from Tipton High School in the class of 2000. Miah was blessed with truly great friends! There are too many to name but a few that were very dedicated to him over the past 4 years were William Weir, Joshua Flint, and Jason McCartney. Miah had many medical issues and they all made sure to spend time with him to keep him company whether they played video games or just hanging out.
Miah loved to watch all types of wrestling and pay per views. His family would often have wrestling parties, much like other people have Super Bowl parties. He enjoyed spending his time playing with his PS4, Xbox, and watching cartoons. His all-time favorite show to watch was Married With Children; it brought back fond memories of the times he and his mom, Brenda, watched it faithfully when he was younger.
Miah had a very strong connection with his mother. He often dwelled on her death and missed her to his core. He had a difficult time talking about it but over the past four years, he was learning to cherish those memories, talk openly about them, and feel different emotions other than grief.
Miah was loved by so many and will be truly missed. Now he is able to walk with his mom and Jesus. After so much pain, he is no longer confined to his wheelchair, nor is he in physical or mental pain.
His family wants to give a special thanks to various family members that have cared for him since his accident, especially Aunt Patty and cousins Sandi and Ellanda.
Those left to carry on Miah’s legacy of love are his aunts and uncles, Jeffrey (Roberta, BJ) Sowders, Patricia (Darice) Mitchell, Patricia (Morris) Shirley, Michelle (Patrick) Woods, Deborah (Pat) Casteel, Billi Jo Lewis & family; cousins, Sandra Raines, Michele (Paul) Hayden, Michael Raines, Drake Raines, Xenmas Raines, Ellanda Atkins & Family, Jonathan McCord & Family, Daniel Leyk & Family, Daniel Shirley & Family, Alisa Bailey & Family, Kara Kennedy & Family, Elizabeth Disney & Family, Natasha Richmond & Family, Jeffery Durbin; and friend & caregiver, Nurse Jenni Stedman.
Miah was welcomed into Heaven by his mother, Brenda Sowders, as well as many grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
