Jimmy Comstock Sr. Obituary

Jimmy H. Comstock Sr., of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.  Jimmy was born in Creswell, North Carolina on July 28, 1937, to his parents, Milton & Addie (Allen) Comstock. Jimmy married the love of his life, Carolyn Jean Mahaney on May 25, 1963, and the two shared over 59 years together and a lifetime of memories.
Jimmy attended high school in North Carolina. Soon after he made his way to Tipton County, and began working for the City of Tipton as an electrician. Jimmy later joined the IBEW and became a Journeyman Electrician.
Jimmy was a hard worker, and was extremely dedicated to his family. He and his wife, Carolyn, were extremely close. Their children described them as “attached at the hip”. Simply put, they were the best of friends, and their loving commitment to one another was precious and endearing. Comedy always led the way in the Comstock household, and it was a rule to never take things too seriously. Jimmy definitely set the tone, as he was almost constantly joking and being ornery; not to mention his ability to make up a song for every person and situation that life brought his way.
Jimmy’s faith was strong, and he was a proud member of Rock Prairie Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Tipton Moose Lodge. Jimmy loved fishing, going to the casino, shopping (especially if a good sale was going on), and watching Westerns. He loved his toys; boats, cars, and later in life, his motorized wheelchair. Recently, Jimmy developed a love for Chinese food, which completely cracked his family up, because it stemmed from his YouTube food video addiction. He also enjoyed watching TV, but rarely had anyone watching with him because he channel surfed so much and rarely ever watched a show in its entirety. Jimmy was fun, quirky, hilarious, and loyal. His family will miss him beyond measure. His simple presence added so much joy to each of their lives, and that will live on forever!
Those left to carry on Jimmy’s legacy of love are his wife, Carolyn Comstock; children, Demitta Starr Reed, Jimmy Comstock Jr.; grandchildren, Amber Reed, JJ Reed, Kasey (Jon) Groome, Zachary Comstock, Hannah Comstock; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Reed, Liron Austin, Bellah Reed, Haven Groome, Hunter Groome; nieces, Trina Hardison, Darlene Keech, Pam Leary; and nephew, Larry Dane.
Jimmy was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Milton & Addie Comstock and siblings, Hallot Comstock, Winfred Comstock, Hilton Comstock, Leroy Comstock, and Julian Comstock.
