Joseph Allen Gaiser

Joseph Allen Gaiser, age 82, entered into rest on Monday August 26, 2019, at IU Health Tipton in Tipton, IN.

Joseph was born in Tipton, IN on May 14, 1937 to Otto and Geneva (Illges) Gaiser.  Joseph married Lillian (Reynolds), sharing 50 years of marriage.  They were married on June 20,1969; she survives.

Joseph was a 1955 graduate of Tipton High School.  He was part owner of Gaiser & Smeltzer Fuel Oil & Burner Service for 21 years before opening his own business, Gaiser Heating & Cooling where he worked for 21 years.  Joseph also worked for Perfect Circle for 2. 

Joseph was a man that believed in hard work.  His job was very important to him and it showed to his customers.  He was the type of guy that would drop what he was doing to help someone in need, always just a phone call away. 

Joseph was a proud member of the Kiwanis of Indiana for over 30 years.  He served as President and Lieutenant Governor of the organization.  He was a lifetime member of Albright Methodist Church of Atlanta.  After their closing, he joined the Trinity Methodist Church of Arcadia. 

Those left to carry on Joseph’s legacy of love are his wife Lillian Gaiser; sons Mark (Sandra) Gaiser of Kokomo, Mike (Teresa) Gaiser of Tipton, Steve (Susie) Gaiser of Anderson, Rick (Roxanne) Harpe of Tipton; daughters Guylia (Jerry) Lacy of Atlanta, Debbie Harpe (Anthony Wray) of Tipton; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 

Joseph was welcomed into Heaven by his parents Otto & Geneva Gaiser, son Timothy Gaiser, daughter Kathy Prater, grandson Brent Gaiser, and brother John Gaiser.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 30 from 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home located at 314 N. Main Street Tipton, IN.  A funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Curtis Matteson officiating.  Internment will take place at Fairview Cemetery.

Donations can be made in Joseph’s honor to the Indiana Blood Center.
