Juanita "Kathy" Hart Obituary

Juanita K. Hart (Kathy) age 78, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 21, 2022, at her home with her daughter by her side. Kathy was born in Kokomo, Indiana on June 3, 1944, to her parents, George & Edith (Moore) Murray.  Kathy married Bob Barnett in 1961 with whom she had two wonderful daughters, Brenda and Robin.  She later married Franklin Hart and had two stepchildren Lori and Bob. Frank preceded her in death on December 27, 1999.

Kathy attended Kokomo High School.  She worked several different jobs over the years.  She worked at Dirilyte from 1966-1972, She was a waitress at Eagles Lodge #255 from 1978-1984. She was a cook at Mac’s Market in the early 2000’s for more than 10 years, and Big City Auctions where she served amazing homemade food from 2012-2017.  Kathy was a friend to everyone she met which made all of her jobs so special to her as she interacted with the public.

Kathy was well known for her huge garage sales she would have on Webster Street.  She was always so proud to be able to help so many people with the fantastic deals she would buy at the auction.  She kept this up until the city shut her down.  Kathy loved to dance and was well known for this in her younger years at The Canteen and The Seashore and seemed to be able to encourage those around her to join in on the fun!  She loved flowers; always keeping her home decorated in the most beautiful décor and loved to decorate her home at Christmas time.  Kathy was a fabulous cook, and everyone knew she could get any stains out of clothes and would often bring clothes to her, a true gift!

She also had many pets over the years and loved her dogs as much as she did her kids. Mitzy, Mia, Hubbles, Dusty and many more.

If you knew Kathy at all, you know she enjoyed talking!  She was one of those people that could engage you in a conversation and was just as good at listening as she was giving advice.  She was able to help so many others through a chat.  She especially enjoyed helping the younger generations.  She was a straight shooter, letting people know her true thoughts without sugar coating it and people loved and respected her for it. Her kind, gentle spirit will be greatly missed.

Those left to carry on Kathy’s legacy of love is her daughter, Brenda (Barnett) Cullison; granddaughter, Haylee Marie Cullison; she was Grammie to many including, Layla Thompson, Mandi Greer, Adrienne Anderson, Mason Everman, Preston Everman; step-daughter, Lori Hart, step grandson, Terry James (Hart) Shaffer; stepson, Robert Hart; sister, Patsy Daily; nieces and nephews, William (Krista) Daily, Monica (William) Brown, MaryAnn (Jay) Daily-Ford, Christopher (Stacy) Daily, and Patricia (James) Mote.

Kathy was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, George & Edith Murray; husband, Franklin W. Hart, daughter, Robin Marie Barnett; nephew, Joseph Daily; and brother-in-law, Charles Daily and her pets.

A private service celebrating Kathy’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kathy’s honor can be made to the Kokomo Humane Society.
