Karen Sue Martin

Karen Sue Martin, age 45, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023 with her loving family by her side. She was born to her mother, Carol Jean (Martin) Dillan on January 25, 1978. Karen graduated from Tipton High School in the class of 1996.

To know Karen was to love her! She had a childlike innocence and an incredibly kind heart. She was a cat lover, and always enjoyed reading a good book. Because Karen was so well read, she had a vast knowledge of many different subject matters. Noone could beat her at Jeopardy! She watched the game show every evening and it was nothing short of impressive to observe Karen answer nearly every question correctly. Life wasn’t always easy for Karen, but she relied on her faith in the Lord to carry her through. To know she is home with her Savior, receiving grand Heavenly rewards brings such peace. Karen was precious and will be missed beyond measure!

Those left to carry on Karen’s legacy of love are her mother, Carol Dillan; uncle, Mike Johnson; cousins, Jonnie Rogers, Elaine Whetstone, Patty Sharp; extended family, Luppie Aguirre, Michael Aguirre and Ruben Aguirre; and best friend, Donald (Duck) Richardson.

Karen was preceded in death by her grandma, Phyllis Ann Martin; aunts, Harriet Whetstone, Betty Coachman; cousins, Jerry Lee Veerkamp and Jimmy Whetstone.

A funeral service celebrating Karen’s life will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton with Pastor Jim Stout officiating. Visitation for family & friends will be held prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the service in Tipton’s Fairview Cemetery.
