Larry Eugene Anderson

Larry Eugene Anderson, age 70, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. He was born on June 1, 1952 to his parents, Tommie Anderson & Ruenell (Copas) Anderson.  

Larry was a 1970 graduate of Tipton High School. He worked for Tipton Municipal Utilities from 1972 until he retired in 2018. Larry started his career working as a lineman and in 1990 he became an electric superintendent.  He always took great pride in his job and enjoyed serving the community of Tipton. Larry was married to Jane Anderson for many years. While their marriage ended, the two were very thankful for their children. Larry married Emily (Dunn) Anderson on January 16, 2010. 

In his spare time you may have found Larry weight lifting, running, or biking. He also enjoyed competitive shooting, archery, and muscle cars. Larry loved his family very much and he will be greatly missed!  

Those left to carry on Larry’s legacy of love are his wife, Emily Anderson; mother, Ruenell Anderson; children, Jessica (Matt) Higgenbotham, Justin (Maranda) Anderson, Jillian Anderson; grandchildren, Ava, Owen, Leela & Parker Higgenbotham and Joseph, Levi & Luke Anderson; siblings, Lois Nowling, Wayne (Kathy) Anderson; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Anderson and brother-in-law, Rick Nowling.  

A memorial service in Larry’s honor will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton with Pastor Johnnie Blair officiating. Visitation for family and friends will take place from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
