Lefty Louie Salinas Obituary

Lefty Louie, age 10, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday May 12, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on May 15, 2009.

Louie, or Lou Lou as he was often referred to, was chosen by his Dad, Robert, because he was all white with a patch of brindle over his left eye, thus his name, Lefty Louie!  His family decided to get another dog because they wanted their girl bulldog, Dozie, to have a playmate.  Even though Robert didn’t show favoritism, everyone knew Louie was his favorite.  Dozie decided she was the Mother and needless to say, she bullied poor Lou all of the time; she stayed true to the bulldog name bully!

Louie was such a loving and gentle soul and loved to cuddle.  He loved everyone he met but could knock you off your seat with his loud, gruff bark.  His favorite treats were Marobones and carrots.  He loved to play outside with his ball.  Louie loved big stuffed animals, particularly Pooh bear.  He would lay and suck on Pooh’s paws like a baby nurses on a bottle.  He had two big Pooh bears and they were nearly worn out with holes in them.  His mom, Eva, would try to sneak them to the trash but he always caught on and followed her, would take them out and smell all over them again.  After that, she would have to sneak them away to wash them!

Louie started having medical issues early on and the constant medical care he needed brought them all closer together.  He had surgery on his leg twice and he had to stay in a pen on the floor; he would cry and cry until his sweet mom would lay with him in his pen to comfort him.

His family had some incredibly special words to say about him, “Louie meant everything to us, we loved and adored him!  Dozie has wondered around and to be perfectly honest, little Honey has too, they keep looking around for Louie.  We Miss Louie so much!  Our hearts are broken with our loss.  Louie will be forever missed and loved, furever embedded in our hearts as our Lou Lou furbaby!”

Louie left behind his parent Robert & Eva Salinas whom he wrapped around his not so little toes; his sisters Erika who gave him loving back massages, Stacy, and Angela; best friend, Dozie, and his rival for his mom’s attention, Honey; and all of his human nieces and nephews.

When tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart.

For every time you think of me, I am right here inside your heart.
