Leonard Miller Obituary

Leonard Earl Miller, age 77, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. He was born on January 11, 1946, to his parents, Raymond “Pop Gun” Miller and Flora (Borden) Miller. Lenny married Teresa (Yeary) Miller on July 12, 2001, and she survives.

Lenny was a lifelong resident of Tipton and worked at the Foundry for nearly 38 years. He always kept himself busy and took all of his responsibilities very seriously. Lenny’s family was precious to him and he was incredibly proud of all the kids and grandkids. If Lenny wasn’t spending time with the family, he was surely with his buddies. Every Friday night Dan Delph picked Lenny up, along with a few others, for dinner and whatever athletic event that was being held at Tipton High School. Their Friday night routine went on for years, and it was always something Lenny looked forward to. He loved sports so much...some said he was like a sports encyclopedia. Lenny rooted for any team that was beating Purdue. He especially enjoyed rooting for Indiana University, Indianapolis Colts, and the Atlanta Braves. In addition to following sports, Lenny also enjoyed fishing. Anyone would tell you he was a thoughtful friend, and dedicated husband & father. Lenny will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to carry on Lenny’s legacy of love are his wife, Teresa (Yeary) Miller; son, Jason Ray (Angie) Miller; grandchildren, Gabe Gibson, Peyton Miller; stepchildren, Tracy (Eric) Johnson, James (Melissa) Barnes; 9 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren; beloved dog, Lucy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lenny was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Raymond & Flora Miller; first wife, Linda Miller; brothers, Ed Miller, Sonny Miller; and sister, Jean Gossum.

The Miller family would like to extend tremendous thanks to Dr. Richard Jung, The Waters Staff, and Paradigm Health for the exceptional care they provided.

Out of respect for Lenny’s wishes, there will be no formal services held. Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Miller family in their time of need. Please feel free to leave an online condolence or share a special memory of Lenny with his family on his tribute wall.
