Lillian Ruth (Davidson) Illges

Lillian “Ruth” (Davidson) Illges, 95, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

Ruth was born on December 7, 1927 to Noah Nelson and Elesta Viola (Davis) Davidson in Indianapolis, Indiana. She married the love of her life, William Max Illges on May 25, 1946 and he preceded her in death on December 15, 2007.

 Ruth was an incredibly loving and caring woman, who believed in leaving others better than how she found them. She was an amazing hostess and often baked for those she loved. Her family will always remember Christmas as a time for enjoying endless treats from her kitchen. She also loved reading, and she spent hours curled up with a good book. More than anything, Ruth loved her family and being a wife and mother. She was an example to many, and her life was a true testament of selfless love. Ruth will be missed beyond measure! 

Those left to carry on Ruth’s legacy of love are her children, Laurance (Riva Weinstein) Illges, Nancy (Terry) Coy; grandson, Chris Coy; special niece, Sharon (Bill) Bandy; and special neighbor, Janis Thornton, who Ruth considered a second daughter.  

Ruth was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Noah & Elesta Davidson; husband, William Illges; and 10 siblings.
