Lindy Gmurk Obituary

Lindy Erin Gmurk, age 36, of Elwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood with her loving family by her side. Lindy was born in Tipton, Indiana on August 30, 1985, to her parents, Bill & Kim (Dobson) Forsythe. On July 13, 2019, Lindy married the love of her life, Damien Gmurk. While they may have only shared two years of marriage, they shared a lifetime of love.

Lindy graduated from Tipton High School, class of 2005. She worked with her mom in the housekeeping department at The Reserve at Hamilton Trace, as a caregiver at Heart and Soul Caring; and at Eddy’s gas station as a cashier where she enjoyed getting to talk to so many people that would come and go all day long.

She was a member of Rock Prairie Church; she had an unwavering faith in the Lord. Growing up she loved to go squirrel hunting and hang out in the taxidermy shop with her dad. She enjoyed being outside so it was natural that she would like to fish, camp, go out on the boat, and hanging out with family and friends around a campfire. She loved to dance and always had her nails looking beautiful! She had a passion for orcas so when you see an orca, think of Lindy.

There are few people in the world that care selflessly about others, but Lindy was one of those people! She gave the best hugs, always engulfing who she was hugging, showing her love for them. She was a friend to all, if you were a stranger, it wasn’t for long! She had so much compassion for others, giving up her own needs to make sure others were taken care of. Lindy was a bright light and could truly light up a room with her infectious laugh and snort.

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and so much more. She will be greatly missed.

Those left to carry on Lindy’s legacy of love are her husband, Damien Gmurk; parents, Bill & Kim Forsythe; children, Hunter William Green, DJ Gmurk, Alexia Gmurk, Malachai Gmurk; sister, Katie Davis; sibling in laws, Crystal Cancio, Felicia Morales, Christy Julian, Jeremy Gmurk; father and mother in law, Rick & Angie Gerard; grandpa, Mack Dobson; aunts and uncles, Pam & John Neal, Linda & Lloyd Hinkle, Diana & Dan Chalfie; cousins, Nicole Flaty, Justin Neal, Nikki Parr; many nieces and nephews; very special friends, Big A, Scott Troutman, Samantha Noone, Jessica Muldoon, Tina Jones, Ann & Tony Harless, Joel & Ashley Dockery, and so many more that meant the world to her.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her grandparents Billy Joe & Betty Forsythe, Grammy Doris Dobson; and her cousin, Amanda Hinkle.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Rock Prairie Baptist Church located at 421 Ash St. in Tipton, IN.
