Livie Jean (Perrin) Arnett, age 92, of Tipton, passed away at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 2, 1932, to her parents, Luther B. & Florida B. (Harpe) Perrin. Livie married James Porter on December 27, 1952. They spent 51 wonderful years together before he passed away on September 30, 2004.
Livie was a 1949 graduate of Tipton High School. She worked for Firestone in Tipton before she and her husband decided to start their family. Livie was a dedicated wife and mother and stayed very busy through the years taking care of her six children. As much as she enjoyed being a mother, being a grandmother brought her even more joy. Livie was incredibly proud of all the kids. She beamed with pride when she spoke about each of them. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Tipton; her faith was incredibly important to her.
Livie was very genuine and unique; always kept her family on their toes. She was innocently funny and effortlessly kept everyone laughing with her witty sarcasm. She loved to go shopping, watch soap operas during the day, and thoroughly enjoyed rooting for the Colts and Pacers. Livie also joked all the time but nevertheless, enjoyed watching “her guy”, which was Patrick Mahomes, of the Kansas City Chiefs. Livie will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially her many loved ones who adored her.
Those left to carry on Livie’s legacy of love are her children, Tony Arnett, Debbie Emberton, Norma Horlacher (Ray), Misty Robinson (Lance); grandchildren, Shawn Emberton (Tabitha), Jason Emberton, Ashley Hughes (Paul Linback), Brittney Adamson (Danny), Cierra Allan (Tristan), Brayden Robinson, Allston Robinson, Deana Moorhouse (Scott), Jamey Off (Lametra), Cayce Arnett, Alyxandra Arnett, Jessyca Arnett; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Lecil Perrin; son-in-law, Ron Asher.
Livie was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Luther & Florida Perrin; husband, James Porter; children, Shelley Off-Asher, Randy Arnett; siblings, Lassie Strong, Lell D. Perrin, Louis Perrin, Lattie Strong, Lex Perrin, Lorena Yates, Leslie Ray, Lester Perrin, Lonnie Perrin, and Leon Perrin.
