Lucille Marie Lorenz 92, Of Elwood, IN passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, in her home with family at her side. Lucille was born October 5, 1933, in Clendenin, West Virginia to Arzonie Mitchell and Trealy Mullins.
Lucille retired from General Motors Delco Electronics Division in Kokomo in 1996. She then went back to work doing what she loved, cooking in a restaurant until she was 80 years old.
Lucille was a competitive bowler for more than forty years. To say she loved to bowl would be an understatement! She participated in many leagues and tournaments over the years and brought home countless awards.
When she wasn’t working or bowling, you could find Lucy at home tending to her flower beds and house plants. She definitely had a green thumb.
Lucille was a proud matriarch of her large family. She loved to cook and especially bake for everyone. She played a large part in the lives of her beloved grandchildren, teaching and supporting them in any way possible. She was a model of resilience and strength, demonstrating hard work, determination and the ability to never give up and keep moving forward with hope in your heart pursuing the things that bring you joy.
Lucille was the mother of four children, Brenda Bowe Sallee (Jerry), Sandra Bowe Roseberry, Velma Jones, and Terry Jones (Sheryl) and two stepsons, Greg Lorenz (Debbie) and Steve Lorenz (Lisa); as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Lucille was proceeded in death by husbands, Samuel Bowe of WV, Olen Jones of Hobbs, James Francis of Tipton, Herman Lorenz of Elwood, her daughter, Sandra Bowe Roseberry of WV, and stepson Greg Lorenz of Kokomo.
A funeral service celebrating Lucille’s life will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton, Indiana, with Pastor Aaron Hogue officiating. Visitation for family and friends will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Fairview Cemetery located in Tipton.
