Mona passed over the rainbow bridge on November 16, 2021 surrounded by her loving family!!
This tribute was written by Mona’s mom, Valerie.
Mona’s original name was Simone, but according to her first family they only called her that when she was in trouble. Her nickname was Mona, so that is what we called her.
Favorite activity- When she was younger- herding the kids, escaping the backyard and roaming the neighborhood/visiting the horses; In her older age-sleeping and going for car rides
Favorite treat- cheese, meat, peanut butter, bread from Burger King chicken sandwich
Personality- happy and carefree when she was younger, but came to be a grouchy, old lady when she got older
Mona was surrendered to the humane society by her first family when she was 1. Another family took her home, but were unable to give her the home she needed, so we brought her into our home. She fit right in and found her forever home.
When Mona was younger she was quite the escape artist and was found wandering around the neighborhood many times, often visiting the horses who lived close by. She was picked up a few times by the police and even had to spend a night in puppy jail. As Mona got older she no longer tolerated excessive amounts of play by her younger siblings. She would let them know that play time was over by taking the toys away from them.
Mona was not just our pet. She was a member of the family. She always greeted us at the door when we got home and stayed close by at all times.
Survivors (human and furry)- Human mom (Valerie), dad (Jason), sisters (Lydia and Emma), and brother (Jack); Furry sisters Sadie and Alice; Preceded in death by furry sister Yuki
