Nancy Bryant

Nancy Bryant, age 71, of Tipton, passed away after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born in Kokomo, Indiana on September 6, 1950, to her parents, Max Bitner & Dorothy (Rogers) Bitner. Nancy married the love of her life, Michael J. Bryant, on September 8, 1968. The two shared 43 years of marriage before Mike passed away on July 1, 2012.

Nancy graduated from Tipton High School in the Class of 1968. She graduated from Ivy Tech in 1995, and worked for many years at Miller's Merry Manor as a licensed practical nurse. Nancy loved her job, and provided exceptional care to all of her patients. She of course showed the same devotion to her family. Nancy appreciated every moment she was able to spend with her kids and grandkids, and beamed with pride for each of them. Nancy snuck away to the beach as much as she could. She thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine, and all outside activities. Nancy was also a member of the Moose, American Legion and Elks of Tipton. She will be so greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her!

Those left to carry on Nancy’s legacy of love are her children, Jennifer (Dwayne) Penley, Angela (Steve) Gillam, Jason Bryant (Sara Henry), Joshua Bryant; grandchildren, Jaylyn Hill, (Casey Simpson), Makenzie Gillam, Malia Gillam, Dakoda Hill, Kelan Hill, Elle Bryant, Brianna Hill, Olivia Bryant, Braxton Bryant; great grandchild, Blakely Simpson; Siblings, Connie Chriswell, Robyn Hamilton, Tim Bitner, Mandy Bitner (Wyatt Hale); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, and husband.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home in Tipton, IN. A funeral service celebrating Nancy’s life will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Johnnie Blaire officiating.  A committal service will immediately follow at Kempton Cemetery.
