Oliver G. Sears

Oliver Gene Sears, age 46, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, with his loving wife and children by his side. Gene was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on January 13, 1976, to his parents, Oliver Eugene & Waltrud Elizabeth (Becker) Sears.  He married the love of his life, Jeana Sue Mullins on June 9, 2007, and the two treasured all of their time together.

Gene attended Hinton High School in West Virginia.  Gene began working for Weber Concrete at 16⁸ years old and he worked there until a little over a year ago when he was diagnosed with MS.  He was an incredibly dedicated worker, often working six days a week, sometimes working 80-90 hours a week.   He enjoyed his time at work, always making sure he could provide for his family.

Gene’s family was everything to him!  He was the best husband, father, brother, and friend anyone could ask for.  He was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need.  He was extremely handy and could fix just about anything.  It didn’t matter what skill it required, he would tackle it and do a good job with the task whether it was building, plumbing, electrical, or even welding. He was also a great mechanic.

He fought a hard battle with MS.  His legacy of hard work, a caring heart, and kind spirit will live on through his children.

Those left to carry on Gene’s legacy of love are his wife, Jeana Sears; children, Natasha Paige White, Marissa White, Nikita (Orlando) Valadez, Stephanie Sears, Gabriella Sears, Skyrah Sears, Elizabeth Sears, Oliver Sears; adopted daughter Samantha (Chris) Brough; grandchildren, Natalia White, Liliana White, Lilah White, Enzo Valadez, Aubree Draper, Jaxon Brough, Vivienne Brough; siblings, Barbara Sears, Thomas Becker, Christine Beatty;  his father, Oliver Sears; and several nieces & nephews.

Gene was welcomed into Heaven by his mother, Waltrud Sears and four grandparents.

A funeral service celebrating Gene’s life will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Williams officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Pivont Funeral Home Services located at 100 Park Ave, Hiton, West Virginia.  Burial will take place immediately following the visitation in Upland Cemetery.
