Paul Harper, age 58, of Kokomo passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. He was born on July 28, 1962 in Gary, IN to his parents, Victor Harper and Vina Hilda (Bailey) Harper.
Paul graduated from Lowell High School in the Class of 1980. He then went on to serve 20 years in the United States Air Force, working as a meteorologist, retiring with a rank of Master Sergeant. Paul’s meteorology career continued at Grissom Air Force Base where he spent the next 20 years. Paul was a proud member of the VFW, as well as the Honor Guard.
Paul was known for his quick wit and playful demeanor. His goal was always to make those around him laugh. He was a lifelong Chicago sports fan, classic movie enthusiast and history buff. More than anything, Paul loved spending time with his family, whom he adored. After being stationed out of the area for so many years, he looked forward to every opportunity to make memories with family members whether it be taking them to a Colts game, going to see a play, or simply watching his grandson play t-ball. He will be so greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him!
Those left to carry on Paul’s legacy of love are his Children, Kasey Harper (Brittany Kadow), Amanda (Jesse) Mendenhall; Grandchild, Carter Mendenhall; Siblings, Freida Szutenbach, Victor (Diane) Harper, Cathy Harper, Philip “Butch” (Sharyl) Harper; as well as many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Paul was preceded in death by his Parents, Victor & Hilda Harper as well as his sister Brenda Harper.
A service including full military honors will be held at a later date. Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, Tipton, IN is honored to care for the Harper family in their time of need. Please feel free to leave an online condolence or share a special memory of Paul with his family on his tribute wall.
