Quincy Tansy Obituary

Quincy Tansy crossed the rainbow bridge on March 4, 2026.  She was lovingly known by many nicknames including Queen Bean, Beanie, and Quin, was born on September 23, 2018. Though small in size, Quincy lived with a personality far bigger than life itself.

Quincy enjoyed the simple things that made her happiest, drinking purified water straight from the sink, playing fetch with hair ties, visiting her grandma at dispatch, and most of all snuggling with her mom. Her favorite “treat” was simply uninterrupted time together.

Quincy was a spicy girl with a big personality. She was well known for greeting visiting family members with a sassy scratch and making it clear she was the queen of the house. Smart and determined, she quickly learned tricks, and even better, how to get exactly what she wanted. Yet beneath her sass was a soft side reserved especially for her mom, with whom she shared an incredibly special bond.

Quincy and her mom, Rhiannon, first met when Quincy was just a tiny kitten born unexpectedly in a friend’s garage to a stray cat. Though she was initially meant for someone else, Quincy ultimately chose Rhiannon and it quickly became clear she was exactly where she belonged.

One of Quincy’s earliest adventures came when she lived secretly with Rhiannon in sorority housing where pets weren’t allowed. Quincy, however, had other plans and proudly displayed herself in the window whenever possible, eventually giving away their secret. She spent some time living with Rhiannon’s dad until her mom could move into an apartment where they could finally be together again.

In recent years Quincy bravely battled chronic asthma, but true to her spirited nature, she never gave up easily. She bounced back time and time again and was always a good girl, at least for her mom, during her breathing treatments. Her resilience was just another reflection of the spunky personality everyone knew and loved.

Quincy was deeply loved by her dad, Grant Tansy, and her furry sister, Lucy Bell Tansy. But to her mom, Rhiannon, Quincy was everything. She was a best friend, a constant companion, and a once-in-a-lifetime bond. Her absence will be felt deeply and forever in the heart of the one who loved her most.

Though Quincy’s time here was far too short, the love she gave will last a lifetime.

Love like Quincy’s does not disappear; it simply becomes part of the memories that will be cherished forever.
