Raymond Lee Diveley, age 58, of Kokomo, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo with his loving family by his side. Raymond was born on June 19, 1963 in Howard County, Indiana to his parents, Harold & Myrtle (Howard) Diveley. Raymond married the love of his life, Recember Miller, in 1982 in Kokomo, Indiana; they spent 40 years by each other’s side.
Raymond attended Kokomo High School, class of 1982. He worked as a tree trimmer most of his life. He enjoyed the work he did, and it showed! He had a soft spot for the elderly; when he knew they may have a difficult time paying he would often take a homecooked meal as payment for trimming a tree.
Raymond had a zest for life! He made the most of every day he was given, enjoying the people he dearly loved. He was a one of a kind, just a great personality that drew people to him. Raymond was goofy, making others laugh hard and often. In his free time, he could often be found hanging out with friends playing poker. He was a giving man, whether it be of his time or going above and beyond to make sure others were taken care of.
Raymond met his wife at the tender age of 5 when they were playing together in the sandbox, both being babysat by best friends. Years later they met again in Greentown at a vegetable stand Raymond was working at while Recember visited her grandmother. Finally, at the age of 13, they met again at a slumber party Recember was at with friends, Raymond being the brother upstairs playing his loud music! It’s not often fate keeps bring two people back together…they have been inseparable since then.
Those left to carry on Raymond’s legacy of love are his Wife, Recember Diveley; Mother, Myrtle Perry; Children, Rochelle Allen, Ryan Diveley; Grandchildren, Dylan Diveley, Maelee Diveley, Chance Yeary, Recember Diveley, Caitlyn Burkett, Cody Lewis; Siblings, Jerry Cooley, Judie Deperoni, Peggy (Tim) Aeschleman, Howard Diveley; Nieces and Nephews, Jerry Cooley Jr., Doug Cooley, Tina Smith, Jeff Cooley, Tonya Angerbouer, Cory Long, Troy Long, Bobbi Evans, Samantha Diveley, Adam Diveley; and his best friend, Charles Osborne.
Raymond was welcomed into Heaven by his Father, Harold Diveley and Nephew, Kevin Cooley.
