Rick Allen Cook, aka “Cookie”, age 63, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2023 with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 20, 1960, to his parents, Gale Cook and Marion (Clemons) DeMien. Rick married the love of his life, Sharon Kay (Holley) Cook on February 14, 2013 and the two were very grateful for the years they shared together.
Rick graduated from Peru High School in the class of 1978. He also went on to attain his real estate and auctioneer licensing. Rick will be best remembered for his time working for O’Reilly Auto Parts in Tipton. With his vast knowledge, customers were always happy to see Rick. They knew they could count on him for accurate and detailed information as well as amazing customer service.
In Rick’s spare time you may have found him attending auctions, antiquing, and going to yard sales. He loved muscle cars; with his favorite being a 1970 Chevy Nova. Rick enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears too; and was anything but a fair weather fan. Other than football games, he had very little interest in television and preferred the radio. More than anything, Rick enjoyed spending time with his dear family. He was a very proud husband, father and grandfather. Rick will be missed beyond measure and eternally remembered for his quick wit, funny demeanor and kind heart.
Those left to carry on Rick’s legacy of love are his wife, Sharon Cook; son, Brodie Cook; stepchildren, Brenda (Chris) Wendland, of Fort Myers, FL, Marc (Chelsie) Arnold, of Peru, IN, Kipp (Alexis) Arnold of Wabash, IN; grandchildren, Haven, Kathryn, Victoria, Avery, Ari, Kynzlie, Korynn, Kolson; brother, Ed (Nancy) Cook, of Plainfield, IN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Gale Cook & Marion (Clemons) DeMien.
