Obituary

Russell David Bauer, age 67, of Tipton, passed away at Alexandria Care Center in Alexandria, Indiana on Saturday, March 13, 2021.  Russ was born on March 26, 1953 in Tipton, Indiana to his parents, Charles E. & Phyllis J. (Hoover) Bauer.  Russ married the love of his life, Brenda Mundy, on October 18, 1975 at Normanda Christian Church.  They shared 42 years together before she passed away February 2, 2018.  They raised three wonderful children.

Russ was a graduate of Tipton High School, class of 1971.  After high school he attended Ivy Tech.  He worked for Pioneer in Tipton.  He retired from Biddles Manufacturing Corporation in Sheridan, where he worked quality control.

Russ was incredibly smart and had a mind for how things worked.  In his free time, he loved to tinker and work on computers.  From the time he was a young boy he could often be found taking things apart just to see how they might fit back together.  Russ would take apart several radios to find enough working parts to make one great radio!  In his teen years he enjoyed candle making and was pretty darn good at it too.  He made all sorts of different candles from Santa Claus to snowmen.  He enjoyed playing board games with his family; Aggravation being his favorite.  Russ also had a knack for genealogy and often gave the gift of his passion by researching his extended family’s family tree.

You probably couldn't find more of a jokester than Russ!  He loved to make others laugh and aggravate them to no end at the same time. Others were often intimidated by him because his stature, but he was a big teddy bear.  He was very easy going but could be stubborn if he felt strongly about something.  He didn’t have a mean bone in his body, just a very gentle soul with a huge heart for others.

Those left to carry on Russ’ legacy of love are Daughters, Lydia Costerison and Heather Bauer; Siblings, Susan (Larry) Timme, Alyce Coleman, John Bauer, Joyce Callahan; and 14 nieces and nephews.

Russ was welcomed into Heaven by his Wife Brenda Bauer; Son, Jeff Bauer; and Parents, Phyllis & Charles Bauer Jr.
