Samson Mendenhall, age 8, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with his loving family surrounding him with love and comfort. He was born on December 9, 2016.
Samson, often referred to as Sam or Bubba, was a lazy, loving boy. A true gentle giant, he liked to sit on the laps and lean up against those he loved the most.
Samson’s favorite activities were golf cart rides and car rides and chasing his tennis balls! He would never pass up his favorite treats, McDonald’s fries, ice cream and popsicles.
He was stubborn and also anxious, which is completely understandable considering he had a rough past before his family recused him. They rescued him from Indy Humane three and a half years ago. Samson’s mom found him online and loved him as soon as she went to see him. He was their first baby, and he didn’t love sharing his mommy with his human little sister, Hattie at first. When she got old enough to share snacks he came around and learned to love her!
Samson was so special to them, and they will miss him so much.
He is survived by his parents, Kellie & Seth Mendenhall and his sister, Hattie.
"Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever."
