Scott Williams Obituary

Scott A. Williams, 46, of Tipton, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born on December 10, 1979, in Tipton, Indiana, to Kenneth and Debra (Scharff) Williams.

Scott was a 1999 graduate of Tipton High School, where he proudly played the trumpet in the band. One of his most treasured memories was performing in a parade at Disney World, an experience he carried with him and spoke of often. In his adult life, Scott worked at Verizon Wireless and Ayer Health, forming friendships and connections everywhere he went.

Scott had a quiet, gentle way about him. He possessed a wonderfully dry sense of humor that could catch you off guard and leave you smiling long after. He was an old soul at heart, often finding comfort in the simple joys of the past. He loved watching The Golden Girls, Mama’s Family, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune, and those familiar shows brought him both laughter and peace.

He was a loyal fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University, always ready to cheer them on. Scott also had a love for travel, with Hawaii holding a special place in his heart—somewhere he found beauty, calm, and joy.

More than anything, Scott loved his family. He was tender-hearted, deeply caring, and always present for the people he loved. His kindness, his quiet strength, and the way he made others feel seen and valued will be remembered always. The love he gave so freely will continue to live on in those who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving mother, Debra (Scharff) Williams; his brother, Brad Williams (Jennifer); his niece, Brevin Hagen (Bryce); his nephew, Jacob Williams (Ember); his cousins, Kurt Scharff (Cheryl), Justin Summers (Emily), and Nicole Waklatsi (Randy); his aunt, Mary Ann Scharff; his uncle, Greg Summers; and many extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Scott was welcomed into heaven by his grandparents, Mary Jo “Jodi” and Bill Plake, and Ralph and Susanne Scharff; his uncle, Jeff Scharff; and his aunts, Kim Summers and Ruth “Ruthie” Pheanis.

A celebration of Scott’s life will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Rock Prairie Baptist Church located at 421 Ash Street. in Tipton.
