Sophia Schenher, age 11, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was born in May of 2010 in an abandon house just down the road from her forever home. Her mom, Kim, took in the litter of kittens and made sure they all went to very loving homes. Kim could not part with little Sophia, the runt of the litter.
Sophia would come to many nicknames; Sophie, Petey, Fancy Toes, and Sugar Toes. She was a very shy and timid girl but so very sweet and gentle natured. They don’t come any more loving that Sophie! Her favorite thing to do was to curl up on her momma’s lap and snooze without a care in the world.
Sophie had a condition called Bartonella and eye issues of an unknown etiology. Eventually she lost an eye but with great care, her family was able to maintain the other eye that still had some peripheral vision left in it. They were very careful not to rearrange furniture or have things out of place, so Sophie was comfortable moving around the house.
Sophie would often wait for her Mommy to come home from work and would follow her downstairs in the mornings so she could pat her bum while she ate. Her favorite treats were shrimp and chicken, she never passed it up! Sophie was very chatty! She would grunt or meow every time her parent’s pet, touch, spoke to her.
Sophie’s “boyfriend” was a cat named Oreo. She would groom him, and they spent so much of their day playing together. Her favorite place to sleep was laying on her mommy’s chest, belly, or legs or curling up next to her face. Her Momma was her favorite person in the whole world! She will be greatly missed
Sophie is survived by his parents Darrin & Kim Schenher and her cat siblings Oreo, Fox, Maggie, Lilly; her dog sibling, Ingo; and her foster cat sibling, Whisper.
“The memories and paw print of a beloved cat remains in our heart and soul forever.” – Unknown
