Teresa E. (Roddy) Helphenstine

Teresa Elaine (Roddy) Helpenstine, age 72, of Kokomo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Teresa was born on July 7, 1949 to her parent, Louis Roddy & Barbara (Mobly) Roddy.

Teresa graduated from Hayworth High School in the Class of 1967. Through the years Teresa had several long-term jobs. She worked as a caregiver for the elderly, as well as disabled children. She also worked on a farm, and ran her own security company.

Teresa was a fun, unique individual! She was quite crafty, loved to sing karaoke, and was a very proud mom and grandma. Teresa also loved boating, camping, wordsearch puzzles, cooking, and family gatherings. She was always the life of the party, and could tell a story like none other. She owned every room she stepped into and always fell into the leadership role of being the boss. And, being the boss was a job Teresa always felt equipped to take on! She will be so greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her!   

Those left to carry on Teresa’s legacy of love are her children, Walter A. (Polly) Brown Jr., Angelia (Jeffrey Baldwin) Brown, Tracy Langley; grandchildren, Brittany Wells, Kaylee (Michael) Martin, Baylee (Zach) Tigrett; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Teresa was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Louis & Barbara Roddy; sister, Brenda Stevens and niece, Maurita Stevens.

A visitation with food and fellowship will take place on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at Bon Air Church of the Nazarene, located at 2419 N Locke St. in Kokomo, IN.
