Terry Ann Sallee, 70, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 11, 1953 in Franklin, Indiana to her parents, Orville Sallee and Celestine (Corbin) Sallee. Terry graduated from Tipton High School in the Class of 1971.
Terry was a homemaker and committed herself through the years to caring for her family. She was incredibly sweet, caring, and nurturing. She could also be a little spit fire at times, and often made others laugh with her brutal honesty. Terry’s transparent and genuine heart made her a person others could trust and depend on. She absolutely loved being a grandma; she beamed with pride for all of her grandchildren!
Terry really enjoyed helping others; she volunteered at Wilbur Wright Birthplace, her church food pantry, and Encore Senior Center. In her spare time, she loved to work on her home. She kept her yard and garden immaculate. She made the best chicken salad and homemade hot chocolate. Terry’s house was a place you always felt welcomed, and she was a person that many appreciated spending time with! Simply stated, she was precious and will be greatly missed!
Those left to carry on Terry’s legacy of love are her daughter, April Singleton; grandchildren, Peyton Maddox (Tyler), Gus Parker; great grandchildren, Ellanor Maddox; siblings, Joann Kendall, Margaret Delph, Jerry Sallee (Brenda), Gene Sallee (Camille), Betty Sallee, Doug Sallee; sisters-in-law, Kathy Sallee, Arlene Sallee; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Orville & Celestine Sallee; siblings, Freeman Sallee, Melvin Sallee, Bill Sallee, Elvin Ray Sallee, Freda Ward, JC Sallee; sister-in-law, Cindy Sallee; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Delph.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held for family and friends on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. In Tipton from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
